Apple, Blueberry & Pear Kanten


​Kanten is a vegetarian gelatin made from agar-agar flakes. It’s gluten-free and flavorless, so it takes on the flavor of anything it’s cooked in.
Serves 3
5,200 mg of omega-3s per serving

​INGREDIENTS
  • 4 Tbsp. of agar-agar flakes
  • 4 cups of apple cider
  • 1/2 pint of blueberries
  • 1 medium red delicious apple, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium pear, peeled and diced small

DRIZZLE INGREDIENTS
​1/2 pint of blueberries
1/4 cup of water or apple cider
2 Tbsp. of Super Omega-3, lemon flavor
DIRECTIONS
  1. Place diced blueberries, apples, and pears in bottom of 3-cup or larger glass container, set aside.
  2. In medium-sized pot, stir in agar-agar flakes and apple cider, and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce to medium heat, and continually stir until flakes completely dissolve.
  4. Pour sauce over fruit.* Cover and refrigerate until kanten solidifies.
BLUEBERRY & DRIZZLE DIRECTIONS

Place blueberries and Super Omega-3, lemon flavor in blender, and mix thoroughly.

​*Note: To create layers of fruit, put one type of fruit on base, then gently pour in enough kanten to cover. Refrigerate for about 10 minutes or until the layer has almost fully solidified. Repeat with next layer. Use cookie cutters to create fun shapes. This recipe is also delicious served on graham crackers.
